GAME RESULTS

September 8th, 2019

Fantastic culmination of the 2019 Moosehead Slopitch League season with a Game 7 Final on the Stephenson Field at the Forest Hills Complex between the PREMIUM DRY DIVISION Pennant Winners, Port City Seagulls and the #2 Seed Blush Coors Light Silver Bullets. 

 

After being down 3-1 in the series, the Silver Bullets battled back in Games 5 & 6 to force Game 7 in which the  Seagulls took the early lead in the game.  Just the they did for the series Blush never quick and fought back to pull out the victory after holding the Seagulls in the bottom of the 9th to claim the PREMIUM DRY DIVISION Play-Off Championship!

Congratulations to both the Port City Seagulls and the Blush Coors Light Silver Bullets on fantastic seasons!

Second to last evening of ball for the Moosehead Slopitch League, as 2 Division Finals are already finished and 2 more went last night.

Blush staves off elimination with a big Game 5 victory, cutting the series to 3-2.

The Silver Bullets continued the fight into Game 6 with another huge win and force the series to a Game 7 on Sunday Night at 7:30 PM on the Stephenson.

EH-TeaM pull off a big victory in Game 5 of this Best of 7 series forcing a Game 6.

Jeff Lecointe lead the Grays to the Moosehead Division Championship both pitching the win and at the dish driving in 8 RBI.  Shayne Betts and Mark Hanson also had big games with the twigs as did the rest of the Grays in this total team effort as the Grays win the series 4-2.

 

The Grays would like to thank the EH-TeaM for the hard fought series and also Jay Fuller and his team at Ecoheat for their support!

Simply stellar evening last night for Moosehead Slopitch League Division Finals.  We had all 4 Divisions battling last night including 8 teams using 3 fields, all looking to claim their respective Division Championships.

PREMIUM DRY DIVISION

Port City jumps all over Blush to take an early 2-1 series lead in the PREMIUM DRY DIVISION Finals.

The Silver Bullets put up a good fight, but eventually fall to the Seagulls who now have a commanding 3-1 Series Lead in this Best of 7

For once this year Dillyn Ryan Wilson lead the EH-TeaM to a DuB-a-U going 5/5 thanks to Stanley making all 5 errors. (Errors are hits in slo pitch(FYI)).  Randy Flecknelahdhfogllllll and Dan Saunders did ok themselves only going 4/5....... meh.  Mike James got carried again to another pitching win without a K as the EH-Team fight back to grab a victory and bring the Best of 7 Division Finals to 2-1.

 

Jeff Lecointe suffered the loss for the Grays.

Jason Watson pitched the win while Brandon O’Donnell went 3/4 with a Homerun, Jon Waye went 3/4 with an inside the park Homerun and Mark Bossenberry went 3/4 to round out the offense and leading the Pirates to a 3-0 grasp on the Division Finals.

Luc Cormier pitched the win.  Kevin Baraly hit 2 Homeruns and Joey Duguay hit a Homerun to lead the offense and the Pirates to victory and a 4-0 Series sweep of the Krakens.

Big night in the Moosehead Slopitch League last night as we had all 4 Division Finals kick off with Double Headers at the Forest Hills Complex on a great evening for softball in Saint John.

ALPINE DIVISION

Beavers  16    Expos  20

The #1 Seed Expos kicked off their Best of 7 Division Finals with a win over the #5 Seed Beavers.   Kris Godin spun the game from the mound while Tim Tobin went 3/4 with a Homerun, Mike Blyth went 3/5 with a Homerun and Rob Moore also went 3/5.

Mike Blyth sparked his team again at the plate by going 5/6 with 2 more Homeruns, Scotty Whalen and Phil Rocca both also went 5/6, helping Kris Godin and the Expos pick up their 2nd Win of the evening over the Beavers and take a big 2-0 Series lead in the ALPINE DIVISION Finals.

 

CLANCY'S AMBER ALE DIVISION

Kraken  6    Pirates  14

 

Chris Carrier chucked the win and batted 1.000 by going 4/4 and Pete McNeil was also perfect at the plate going 3/3 sparking the Pirate to a big Game 1 victory of the Krakens to lead the Best of 7 Division Finals 1-0.

The #1 Seed Pirates take an early 2-0 lead over the #2 Seed Kraken as the win both games of the evenings double header.  From the mound Jason Watson tossed a great game, allowing Kevin Baraly who went 3/4 with a Homerun and Mark Bossenberry (4/5) lead the charge at the plate for the Pirates.

 

MOOSEHEAD DIVISION

Ecoheat Hometown Grays  26    The Crown EH-TeaM  10

Jeff Lecointe pitched the win while going 4/5 at the plate, Bernie Desmond destroyed two balls into the trees while going a perfect 4/4 and Chris Cameron went also batted 1.000 going 4/4, pushing the Hometown Grays to a big Game 1 victory over the EH-TeaM and take a 1-0 series lead in the Best of 7 Division Finals.

The #2 Seed Hometown Grays own an early impressive 2-0 Series lead over the #1 Seed EH-TeaM in the division finals, by following the impressive evening lead provided by Bernie Desmond who kept his hitting streak intact going a perfect 5/5 with another monster blast.  Also helping the Grays and Jeff Lecointe pick up their 2nd win of the evening was Brandon Barnes who went 3/4 and made some stellar defensive plays in the field.  Wayne Shannon on the other hand, gave the Grays a reason to look forward to Games 3 and 4 as he owes the team a case of cold ones due to a big backwards K watching strike 3 hit the big orange mat.

The strippers from Blush fight back in the 2nd game of the evenings Premium Dry Division Finals by squeaking one out over the Seagulls tying the Best of 7 series at 1-1.

A damp, misty, sometimes rainy evening at the Forest Hills ball field last night, but we had 2 series on the go in big games.  One Clancy's Amber Ale Division Series playing Games 4 & 5 and one Moosehead Division Series playing Games 3 & 4 if necessary.

CLANCY'S AMBER ALE DIVISION

 

East Coast Pub Coors Lights  11      Krakens  22

 

Cody Lefrancois picked up the pitching win, while Neil Withers went 5/6 and smashed 2 Homeruns, George Byers batted 1.000 by going perfect at 5/5 and Matt Brown added 4 hits forcing a deciding Game 5.

Kristian Fraser pitched, Cale "Lettuce" Lefrancois went 4/4 with his first Homerun, Dave Finley also goes a perfect 4/4, while Jordan Larsen Goes 3/4 including the walk off single, which was required due to his previous Strike Outs, all leading to a Game 5 and series victory for the Krakens to move onto the Finals against the Pirates.

MOOSEHEAD DIVISION

 

Brew Crew  7    Ecoheat Hometown Grays  16

 

Jeff Lecointe pitched the win as the ECOHEAT HOMETOWN GRAYS sweep the Brew Crew 3 straight.  Greg Ingalls was 3/4 while Shayne Betts was 2/2 with an inside the park Grand Slam, Chris Cameron also chipped in with 2 hits.

 

The Grays would like to thank the Brew Crew for the good series.

 

Ecoheat Hometown Grays will now face off against The Crown EH-TeaM in the Moosehead Division Finals starting Tuesday Sept 3rd, on the O'Brien Field at 9 PM.

Some limited field time used up this weekend between Friday night and Sunday evening, due to holiday and out of town tournmants.   The games which were played ended up being some series deciding games however, changing the layout of games for the week ahead.

Jason Watson and Luc Cormier pitched the game.  Brandon O’Donnell and Mark Bossenberry went 4/4 and Drew Garnett drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh giving the Pirates a victory in game 3 and a sweep of the Castaways.

Pirates will now await the winner of #2 Krakens and #3 East Coast Pub Coors Lights

Jeff Freezed pitched while Shawn McVicar, Ryan Freeze and Nick Garnett all went 4/5 leading the East Coast Pub Coors Lights to a victory and a commanding 2-1 series lead.  Games 4 and 5 will go early on Monday evening at the O'Brien.  Winner will go on to face off against the Pirates in the Finals.

 

Sunday September 1st, 2019

ALPINE DIVISION

Molson Mound Pounders  17    Beavers  22

Dan Hick, Curtis Green and Jeremy MacAulay lead the way offensively while Curtis Green spun the win giving the Beavers the win in the game and a 3-1 Series victory over the #2 seed Molson Mound Pounders.

The Beavers will now face off against the #1 seed Expos in the Finals starting on Tuesday Night at the O'Brien.

 

MOOSEHEAD DIVISION

Giants  0    The Crown EH-TeaM  1

 

Mike James and Jonny Hill shared the pitching duty in a very good battle Sunday evening vs the Giants that went extra innings.  The EH-TeaM battled back in the last inning with Pat Patchell delivering the walk off hit to send his team to the finals.

Nice evening of ball last night at Forest Hills, as we saw the Moosehead Division Semi Finals kick off and the Premium Dry Division Semis finish, setting up a repeat in the Finals.

MOOSEHEAD DIVISION

 

Giants  12    The Crown EH-TeaM  14

Very good battle to start the series and double header between the Giants and EH-TeaM, with the EH-TeaM winning 14-12 in the last innings. Leading the way for the winning team was Dan Saunders going 5/5 with 2 doubles and Jonny Hill went 4/4 with a Homerun, as the EH-TeaM take an early 1-0 Series lead.

Joe Beaton lead the way for the EH-TeaM going 3/4 with a Homerun for an out and a 3 run blast that counted.  Randy Flecknell went 5/5 with 2 doubles helping the 1st place seed take a demanding 2-0 series lead over the Giants in the Best of 5 Semi Finals.

Game 3 and 4 take place on Thursday on the O'Brien.

Shayne Betts capped off a perfect night going 6/6 while Josh Trott was 4/6 while hitting a car in the parking lot for a 3 run Homerun, as the Grays take a commanding 2-0 lead over the Brew Crew in their Best of 5 Semi Finals.  

 

Game 3 and 4 take place on Thursday on the O'Brien.

 

PREMIUM DRY DIVISION

Doirons Sports Indians  13    Blush Coors Light Silver Bullets  23

 

Blush wins game 5 and the series 4-1 to advance to Premium Dry Division Finals for an 8th Consecutive Year.

Mike Rowe slugged 4, over the fence Homeruns, leading the Port City Seagulls in the win over the Cardinals, and a sweep of the Semi Finals Series 4-0.   

Port City will face of against the Silver Bullets in a repeat of last years finals starting on Thursday night on the Stephenson.

Solid night for some ball as Moosehead Slopitch League Play-offs Continue, as we had 3 Divisions playing at Forest Hills with one Game 5 and a few early Semi Final games.


MOOSEHEAD DIVISION

Marlins  5    Brew Crew  22

 

Brew Crew treated the Marlins like Old Yeller and decided it was time to take them out but instead of 1 bullet they used 22 runs instead.  Mike McLaughlin went 5/5 with 2 doubles, Brandon "Still got my $20" Hanson went 4/4 and Chris MacGregor who pitched the win helped his own cause by going 3/4 as the Brew Crew win Game 5 setting up a Semi Final matchup against the Ecoheat Hometown Grays starting Tuesday Night on O'Brien.

The Pounders tie their series with the Beavers at one game a piece. Where theres smoke theres fire and Andy Daley paced the Pounders going 5/5.  Big Joe Mahoney rocked the park with 3 big hits and Ryan Boyce hit a little league Homerun and pitched the win.  Kyle "Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children" Logan was in attendence.

Curtis Green pitched the win, Justin Nicole hit two dingers to put the Beavers up, and continued the run with a good defensive run with Dan Hicks playing short.  The victory puts the Beavers up 2-1 in the Best of 5 Semi Final matchup.

Big Evening of ball at the Forest Hills Complex as 2 more Quarter Final Series will be decided in both Moosehead and Clancy's Divisions, while 2 Alpine Division Semi Finals are rolling.

Mike Nowlan pitched the win while going 4/5 at the plate. Trevor Bennett added 4 hits including an inside the park Homerun and Cody LeFrancois adds 4 hits as the Krakens win the Best of 5 Quarter Final 3-1.   They advance to the Semi Finals and square off against the East Coast Pub Coors Lights starting Tuesday Night on the Stephenson.

Jeff Lecointe pitches the win while also hitting for the cycle leading the Grays to the Game 5 victory. Brian Stanley went 3/3 while Shayne Betts and Greg Ingalls each chipped in with 3 hits.  Grays move onto the Semi Finals vs. either the Giants or the Brew Crew starting on Tuesday night on O'Brien.

Rob Moore went 5/6, Jake Tobias went 5/5 and Jordan Trecartin had two hits, after some mid game batting practice outside the dugout with Rob Moore as the Expos take a 2-0 Series Lead over the Fog City Ballerz.

For the Ballerz, Donnie Plourde, Rob Chapple and Dave Daly Jr all went 2/3, while Craig Cormier and Ronnie Robertson pitched.

Evening of ball with important games for several series in 2 divisions.

ALPINE DIVISION

Curtis Green picked up the big win, while Cody Livingstone provided the offensive spark with a huge home run and Joe Chiasson and Josh Durley, moving the Beavers into the Semis against the Molson Mound Pounders.

Rob Moore, Mike Blyth and Matt Bishop all went 4/4 leading the Expos to a win and a 1-0 lead over the Ballerz.

For the Ballerz, Marc Doussaud and Ronnie Robertson pitched while Marc Moyen went 4/4 and Dave Daly Jr went 3/4.

CLANCY'S AMBER ALE DIVISION

 

Clark GM FTrail Marauders  7    Krakens  19

 

Quinn MacKinnon spun the win and helped his own cause by going 5/5 including a Homerun, while Rick Brown also goes a perfect 5/5 and Rich Tyner tacks on 4 hits giving the Krakens a 2-1 Series lead over the Marauders.

Chris Eliassen went 3/4, while Matty Donovan, Tony Woodland and Jason Praught all went 3/3 with Jason smashing another monster Homerun.  Kevin Hoyt and Dave Parlee split pitching duties sending  the Castaways into the 2nd round. 

 

Castaways want to give a shout out to the Regulators for a very close, well played series.

Foggy night in the city, but we managed to get all games in, pushing through so 11 games, on 3 fields involving 18 teams and 3 Divisions, can get their regularly schedule evening of ball in.


CLANCY'S AMBER ALE DIVISION

Castaways  17    Regulators  16

 

Darryl Heeney went 3/3, also went Jason Praught 3/3 with 2 Homeruns, including a shot that landed in Kenny Donovan’s living room.  Tim O’Blenis with a pinch hit 3 run Homerun that ended up being the difference in the hard fought game. Dave Parlee and Kevin Hoyt split the pitching and shared the win as the Castaways take a 2-0 lead over the Regulators in the Best of Five Quarter Finals.  Game 3 goes Friday at 9:00 PM on O'Brien.

Kevin Wilson pitched the win, while Shawn McVicar, Andrew Loughery, and Matt Sanford all went 3/4 giving the ECP Coors Lights a commanding 2-0 lead over the Hitmen.

Jeff Freeze went 3/4 and pitched the win.  Gareth Black and Ryan Freeze also went 3/4 with Ryan providing the Walk-Off hit to clinch the series for the ECP Coors Lights 3-0 over the Hitmen.  ECP moves onto the Semi Finals.

 

 

 

MOOSEHEAD DIVISION

 

Shooters Hustlers  17    Ecoheat Hometown Grays  21

 

Jeff Lecointe pitched the win while Josh Trott and Jeff Brewer both went 4/4 and Bernie Desmond had 3 hits including a double and a triple, giving the Grays a 2-1 lead over the Hustlers.  Game 4/Game 5 take place Sunday at 6:00/7:30 PM on the Stephenson.

Dan "The Man" Saunders hit the series winning Grand Slam as The Crown EH-Team sweep the Jay Birds 3-0 to move on to the Semi Finals.

Ryan Fanjoy, Tom Sabean and Matt Duguay all hit Homeruns as the Giants bats come alive with 33 hits.  Jamie Richard continued the trend by going 4/4 and giving Anthony Loatman and the Giants the victory.  The Giants move on to the Semi Finals.

Brew Crew  27    Marlins  7

 

Brandon "Juice Monkey" Hanson went 6/6 with 2 Homeruns and a double, Kris Sewell went 5/7 with 3 doubles and a walk and Nick Spencer went 5/7 hitting for the cycle with 2 Homeruns, a triple and a double giving Chris MacGregor and the Brew Crew a needed win to stay alive in the Best of Five Quarter Finals evening the series 2-2 with the Marlins.

 

Marlins struggled at the dish besides Chris Arseneau (3/4), Jon Allen (3/4) and Josh Duffy (2/4) who also hit a Homerun.  Nick Binns and Mike Murray split the pitching loss.

Jon Allen continued his fervid hitting by going 5/5, Jason Cook was welcomed back and showed his appreciation by going 4/5 for 2 Homeruns while Chris Arseneau also went 4/5, giving Mike Murray the pitching victory and the Marlins a 2-1 lead over the Brew Crew in the Best of 5 Quarter Final Matchup.

Damp evening on the ball fields last night, but we had 4 teams gut it out and get their double header games in, in the Alpine Division.

Marc LeClair batted 1.000 by going 4/4 with a double and 3 runs scored, while Derek Bland went 3/5 with 3 runs scored giving Kenny Hayward the pitching victory and the Grovers a 2-1 Series lead over the Beavers.

Solid evening for softball at the Forest Hills Complex last night. We had 8 games all in the Alpine Division going across both fields.

Ryan Boyce pitched the win and had a pair of doubles while Zack Smith had 4 hits and Aaron Craig had 3 hits, as the Pounders take a commanding 2-0 Series Lead.

The Cardinals win the Quarter Finals 3-1  over the Bag Taggers, putting them in the Semi's against the #1 seed Port City Seagulls starting next Tuesday the 20th.

A big come from behind win for the EH-Team in a 1 game Play-Off for 1st place in the Moosehead Division.  Mike James batted 1.000 going 5/5, Morgan Sullivan and Johny Hill both batting both 4/5 and Johny Hill pitching the win to help the EH-Team win the Pennant in the Moosehead Division and First Round Play-Off matchup against the Jay Birds starting on Thursday night at 10:30 PM on the Charlie O'Brien field.

 

Jeff Lecointe took the loss from the bump, but had 5 hits in the game, while Brandon Barnes and Josh Trott collected 4 hits a piece. The Grays want to congratulate the EH-Team on winning the division.   The Grays have a First Round Play-Off matchup against Shooters Hustlers starting on Thursday night at 9:00 PM on the O'Brien.

In the 1st Round the 3rd Place Brew Crew lock up a battle with the 6th Place Marlins, while the 5th Place Giants will tangle with the 4th place Brewers.

We are hoping to get all Regular Season games completed this week aside from the above mentioned game.  Here is the proposed schedule based on this.  First Round as always we will keep Divisions on their regular nights.  After the First Round, this will change and games can and will be on any regular MSPL night.

 

I will update this page with a proper Upcoming Games schedule and the Play-Off Bracket with standings per Series, etc along with Seed Names.

REMINDER:  Umpire costs are covered by league for first 3 playoff games. Starting in game 4, it is $25 per team (2 umpire system in playoffs)

A towering Homerun from Tim O’Blenis, which the lady in the apartment graciously threw back, and a Homerun from Joe Gould which was heavily assisted by the wind, gave the game an appearance of being within reach, after massive comeback by the Castaways, only to be sullied by “A” division bench player Joe Gould who hit an unimpressive routine can of corn, to which Maurauders right fielder exclaimed oh I got this and the game was over.  Tim Leaghy also went 4 for 4 for the Marauders in the tie.

Ron Nicolle tossed the game, while Jason Murray (4/4) had a Homerun and a Double, Dave Gunn and Travis Broad both went 3/4 with a Homerun and Edwin Campbell went 3 for 4 with a Triple leading the Marauders offensively in the tie.

Ronnie Robertson took the tough loss on the mound while Shane Ward (3/4), Mark Moyen (3/4) and Marc Doussaud (3/3) all had three hits a piece doing their best to keep the Ballerz in it.

Johnny Hill's 1st pitching start of the year went well only allowing 4 runs against and threw 7 innings.  Matt Manuel lead the way for the EH-TeaM going 5/5, Morgan Sullivan had a day as well going 4/4 with a switch hit Homerun and a double.  Pat Patchell added in a 4/4 night including a parking lot Homerun in the 1st.

Mike Murray and Nick Binns combined to pitch the tie, while Jon Allen (4/5), Josh Duffy (3/5) and Mark Bigney (3/4) lead the way offensively for the Marlins, aside from Mike Murray's stellar little league Homerun (dropped pop up, and 2 throwing errors) cause by his blazing speed on the bases.

Possibly the best evening for ball was had by 13 Teams last night in 7 games at the Forest Hills Complex.   Sun was shining, little breeze in the air and balls were flying!  MOOSEHEAD DIVISION had 4 regularly scheduled games while the PREMIUM DRY DIVISION had 3.

Mark Bigney "pitched" the win and went 4 for 5 helping his own cause.  Offensively, the Marlins were lead by Brent Craft who batted 1.000 and blasted 2 Homeruns driving in 6 runs, Jon Allen who also batted 1.000 driving in 4 runs and Tony Briggs (4/5) who belted a timely wooden bat Homerun.

Gents, 

The Executive, along with Tim O'Blenis and Gordie Plagenz are looking for feedback on how many folks are interested in participating in the HOME RUN DERBY.   This will take place on Sunday prior to the finals at 11:30 am.   The derby will be limited to 20 participants with 10 swings per person and the cost will be $5 to participate.

The Derby will be using our normal Hot Dot balls, along with the League supplied Wooden Bats (or your own approved wooden bat).

**Current plan is to only allow All-Star participants, however if we don't get 20 participants we will open to other League Members on a First Response, First Selected basis, so everyone please respond if you are interested.**

Somewhat of a lackluster turn out to what seemed to be a great evening at the Grove Lounge for those that made it out and enjoyed the perks, that Gordie and Tim were able to provide us on behalf of Moosehead Breweries.

13 Rounds of nail biting drafting took place as the Executive (and me for Matt Brown's team) began the battle with stare downs and trash talk.  The final results on paper appear to be 4 great teams, but we will have to wait for Next weekend July 13th and 14th to see how those teams play together on the field.

GAMES CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN

The City's Parks and Leisure Services Department has closed all sports fields today as such 11 scheduled games will need to be re-scheduled.  This includes 4 CLANCY'S AMBER ALE DIVISION games and 4 MOOSEHEAD DIVISION games and 3 PREMIUM DRY DIVISION games.

Rain dates are to be determined.  Once rain dates have been solidified by Exec with City teams will be notified.

All-Star weekend is right around the corner, so it's time to share solidified information with our league members.

  • **MOOSEHEAD SPONSORED EVENT**

  • ALL-STAR Weekend will take place July 13 and July 14

  • This years game will be hosted at Memorial Field and again be Wooden bat (League supplied)

  • Each Team will nominate 4 Players this year, 2 Starters and 2 Subs (to be used if extra players are needed)

  • Homebase for the weekend will be Shooters who will be providing drink specials.

  • Food trucks will be onsite during the weekend

Just like last year there will be a LIVE DRAFT for the team selections.  Few details are still being worked out for the Draft but here is what we have so far:

  • Will be held July 5th at the Grove Lounge

  • Players/Reps asked to be present starting at 7:30 PM, draft to begin at 8:00 PM

It has been requested that we use this site to submit the 4 players.  To keep it simple we will use the REPORT SCORE page as follows:

  • Use HOME and AWAY boxes for 2 STARTERS names submission

  • Team Rep email as normal

  • Use Top 3 Batters box for your team name and 2 Alternates names submissions

  • Please include POSITION of the nominated player as well, this will allow coaches to better fill their rosters (as below):

Jeff Jenkins (5/5) launched the Brew Crew to a 21-20 victory, by smashing a walk-off Grand Slam and making the Hustlers pay for loading the bases in front of him.  Richie Machum (4/5) and Mark Sewell (3/4) also provided need prowess at the plate.  Chris Macgregor pitch a solid 7 innings only to come up with the no decision.  Shaggy comes in late to claim the win and soak up some of Jenkins glory.

Johnny “walk-off “ Williams, not only pitched the game, but lead the grays to a come from behind win with a bases loaded single up the middle.  Brandon Barnes (4/4) and Brad Spencer (3/4) also lead the Grays at the dish.

 

The Marlins were lead by Brent Craft (3/5) who hit an early Grand Slam, Denny Chiasson (5/5) who had to monster Homeruns to FixAuto, Mike Leaver (4/5) who lead off the game with a Homerun and Nick Binns (4/4), who also pitched the game.

Stephen "Bucky" Morrison and Jeremy Armstrong both went 5 for 5, helping pitcher Brian Doucet to the victory and putting the POMM Phillies back in the winning circle.

The Beavers lost, but it wasn't because of pither Curtis Green who went 4 for 4 helping out his own cause.  Joe Chiasson (4/5) and Mike Votour (4/5) both hit Homeruns and Evan McAulay (3/4) pounded the ball doing their best to back Curtis up.

7 regularly scheduled games in the Moosehead and Premium Dry Divisions took place at the Forest Hills complex, during likely the best evening for softball all season so far!

 

MOOSEHEAD DIVISION

Mike James battled all game on the mound vs a run hungry Grays team that answered back with 17 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning after giving up 18 in the top of the 1st which took 35 mins to complete. Pat Patchell lead the way for the EH-TeaM going 5/5 with 5 rockets. Jay Bennett went 4/5 crushing 2 Homeruns while adding a double. Joe Beaton had another good day at the plate going 3/4 with 2 doubles.

Jeff Lecointe and John Williams shared the pitching duties in a hard fought loss to the EH-Team. Top hitters for the Grays were Mark Hanson (4/4) and Wayne Shannon (4/4) who both had a double and a Homerun and Dan Larlee (3/4) provided some pop with 2 homeruns.

Nick Binns pitched the complete game seeing his ERA stay steady around 24.50 but got his 1st win on the mound and the Marlins 2nd walk-off win in a row.

Brent Craft (3/4) lead the charge on offense for the Marlins on Stephenson, smashing 2 no doubt Homeruns.  Denny Chiasson (4/4) batted 1.000, and Jason Johnson (3/4) ripped an inside the park Homerun in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game, allow the comeback and 1st victory of the season for the Marlins and pitcher Mike Murray.

Giants  18    Ecoheat Hometown Grays 19

Jeff Lecointe pitched the win and provided the walk off monster Homerun, leading the grays to a 19-18 over the giants . Lecointe was 3/4 while Chris Cameron (3/3) and Brad Spencer (3/3) both had flawless nights at the dish.

Complete team effort to make up for the bad Monday night game! Dan Saunders played his buttttt off at CF and was the best player on the field this game! One legged Chris Hill had a great day at the plate! Maybe have him call for a runner more often.... and Randy Flecknell came up big on both ends with the bat and glove! Mike James once again pitched a great game holding the Brew Crew to only 12 runs.

Tyler Surcon pitched the win and Jeremy Lockhart went 3 for 4 with an inside the park Homerun giving the Jay Birds just enough to sneak by the Hustlers.

Week 5 kicks off in the Moosehead Slopitch League with 4 ALPINE DIVISION games and 3 CLANCY's AMBER ALE DVISION, at the Forest Hills complex.

ALPINE DIVISION

 

Beavers  7    Fog City Ballerz  15

 

Ronnie Robertson pitched the win, as Shawn Gionet (4/4) lead the Ballerz offense by example.  Ryan Daly & Scott Daly both went 3 for 4, and Scott added a Homerun

 

Curtis Green took his 3rd loss in the circle, as Josh Durley, Dan Hicks and Jonathan Bradbin all go 3 for 4.  Jonathan also chipped in with a Homerun trying to spark the Beavers.

East Side Boys  20    Promen Schooners  12

 

Woody tossed the Victory while Bryan Robertson (4/4), Daniel Barrette (5/5) and Paul O'Brien (4/4) all lead the charge on offense as the East Side Boys get their 1st win of the season.  

 

Nathan spencer (3/4) takes the loss, as Pat Parfitt (5/5) and Brian Malloy (3/4) did their best to change the ending of this game in the Schooners favour.

Ryan Boyce had 4 hits and pitched the win, while at the dish Zack Smith had 4 hits and Kyle Logan chipped in with 3 hits allowing the Mound Pounders to squeek one out and pull even with Expos on top of the standings.

Brent Boyle went 4-4 with 2 singles 2 & doubles, Kyle Despres went 4-6 with 3 Doubles and a single, while Adam Bernier pitched for the win and went 4-5 with a triple , 2 doubles and a single leading the Regulators to the win.

ECP Coors Lights continue their torrid pace at the plate, as Nick Garnett was 5/6 and Andrew Loughery cranked out 5 hits including 2 triples, while Kevin Loughery was 5/5 with a double and 4 singles in support of winning pitcher Jeff Freeze.

Michael Nowlan pitches the win as the young Krakens defeated the Fadeaways...err Castaways to even their season series.  Neil Withers and Matt Brown lead at the plate going 4/4 while Dave Finley goes 3/4.

GAMES CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN

June 14th, 2019

The City has closed all sports fields today as such 4 scheduled games will need to be re-scheduled.  This includes 4 ALPINE DIVISION regularly scheduled games and 3 CLANCY'S AMBER ALE DIVISION re-scheduled games.

The game between the Hitmen and Clark GM FTrail Marauders was previously deemed as a forfeit by the Clark GM FTrail Marauders, giving the Hitmen a 9-0 win.

Rain dates are to be determined.  Once rain dates have been solidified by Exec with City teams will be notified.
