Taking advantage of an absolutely beautiful evening, and a Peter McMenanmon "back door" deal with the city to use the field tonight, the B Division battled in a winner take all Game 5 on the Charlie O'Brien in front of a sold-out crowd.

Jeff Richard (4/5) had a HomeRun and 4 RBI, Sheldon McDivitt went 4/5, Ryan Freeze (3/4) had 4 RBI, Bryan Robertson went 3/3 and Derek Sanford had a HomeRun and 4 RBI, leading pitcher Gene Garland (3/5) and the East Coast Pub Coors Lights to a Game #5 victory over the Pennant winning Blue Jays.

On Monday Night, we saw the C and B Divisions heading to O'Brien in an attempt to wrap up the final 2 Play-Off Series in the Saint John Slopitch League.
C Division
#2 Batmen 4 #1 StingRays 5
The StingRays and the Batmen had a pitchers duel in Game #3 with some fantastic defense to assist. The StingRays were able to hold the Batmen off and win 5-4 and capture their 2nd straight title.
Congratulations to the StingRays who win the Best of 5 Series 3-0 and add to their Pennant win, by claiming the
C DIVISION 2022 PLAY-OFF CHAMPIONSHIP!
B Division

In a defensive gem the Jay's win a close one in Game 3, as Kyle Phillips, Kyle Smith and Travis Gallant had 3 hits a piece while Adam Bernier spun the win.

An absolutely fantastic evening for some Play-Off action in Saint John. The C Division Finals took full advantage of the weather and got 2 games in the books on the Charlie O'Brien field at the Forest Hills Complex.

StingRays were led at the dish by Josh Duffy (6/7) who mashed 3 HomeRuns including a Grand Slam collecting 7 RBIs in the process. Matt Byrne (5/7) picked up 4 RBIs, while Ciaran Edgecombe (5/7) batted in 3 RBI, earning the StingRays and pitcher Mike Murray the victory in Game #1.

Mike Murray picked up another win from the rubber for the StingRays in Game #2, who were led at the dish by Jack Flynn (4/5) who crushed a HomeRun gathering 5 RBIs. Justin Sheppard (3/5) batted in 3 RBI and Matt Beers (4/6) pushed in 2 RBIs in the victory.

Monday Night sees the C Division Finals, of the StingRays and the Batmen, continue the battle for the C Division title with Games 3 and 4 at 6:00 and 7:30 at O'Brien on Monday Night.
The B Division Finals continues, with the series between the Blue Jays and the East Coast Pub Coors Lights tied 1 game a piece, battling it out at 9:00 and 10:30 with Games 3 and 4 on the card.
Wednesday holds the potential Game 5s in both Series with the B Division at 6:00 PM and the C Division at 7:30 PM.

Iron Pigs and the Seagulls split the first double header starting Games 3 & 4 with a series draw. Seagulls won both games on Friday night and their 3rd in a row to claim the A Division Championship in style.

Unfortuntely, The Dingers were unable to field a team any longer this season due to University going back in and our season running late, awarding the 2022 D Division Pennant Winner Regulators the D Division Play-Off Championship!

Semi final series kicked off Game 1 with a tight defensive game, but the Ballerz fell short by 3 runs to the Regulators. Brian Doucette took the loss from the rubber.

Ballerz clinch the series with a huge 15-0 win over the Schooners. Ballerz and Regulators battled to a walk off ending in an exciting game from start to finish. Leading the Ballerz at the plate were Donnie Plourde, Ryan Wills, Mark Boles and Ben Freigang all batting 1.000 with Bruce Wills, Rob Chappel and Brian Doucette adding 3/4 nights each. Brian Doucette pitched 7 solid innings with Shawn Gionet stepping in for the 8th in the tight loss.

After a disappointing double header loss against the Ballerz on Sunday, the Grover’s came in to tonight’s Monday night game with full intentions of winning and snapping the Ballers current six game winning streak. Marc Hayward and Jeff Murphy each batted 5/5 while Josh Lee went 4/5 belting a towering Grand Slam to help the Grover’s win to victory.
Ballerz struggled to hit and were haunted by errors in a loss to the Grovers. Top hitters were Dippy Chiasson, Ben Logan, and Billy Dickison who all went 3/4. Brian Doucette, Shawn Gionet and Billy Dickison all took a turn on the mound in the loss.

Regulators pulled off the win tonight against the Dingers in what was an exciting game. Leading the way at the dish was Kenny Lawrence (4/4) 2 doubles, a single and a HomeRun, Johnny Hill Mason (4/4) 3 singles and a double and Tom Sabean (4/4) 3 singles and a double. Jeremy Leslie picked up the win from the rubber.

The Ballerz bats just can't be stopped lately with another win doubling up the East Side Boys. Leading the way was Ryan Wills and Billy Dickison both going 4/5 and a HR each. Dippy Chiasson, Shawn Gionet and Marc Doussaud chipped in with 4/5 nights as well. Shawn Gionet started on the mound and pitched a solid 6 innings with Ryan Wills stepping in in the 7th only giving up 2 hits and 1 run in his season debut on the mound.

Ballerz bats continue to roll smoke with a big win Thursday night. Leading the way was Billy Dickison 5/5 with 2 inside the parkers, James Forster 5/5, Shawn Gionet 3/5, Mark Boles 3/5 with a stellar defensive performance at 3rd base. Brian Doucette helped himself out with a 4/5 night while pitching the win.

Mike Cass went 1/3 with a double, while Jeff Murphy and Justin Leblanc each went 2/3 for a real tight defensive win for the Grovers.
It was a tight affair between the Regulators and Grovers, with no runs being scored until the bottom of the 4th when the Grovers scored 4. Leading the way at the plate for the Regulators was Johnny Hill-Mason who went 3/3 with a double , Shane Ouellette went 3/4 while hitting an inside the park HomeRun and stranded 2 on base in the top of 9th. K-Ci Vautour went 2/4 and Jeremy Leslie took the loss on the bump.

Jason Cook lead the charge for the Castaways at the plate going 5/5 and slugging out 2 HomeRuns. Joe Gould (3/6) kept pace with Jason with 2 of his own HomeRuns and Steve Craig (4/5) joined in the Dinger Derby by crushing one out as well giving the Castaway and pitcher Dave Parlee the victory.
Mike Henry & Nick Binns split the pitching duties and the victory. Derek Creaser (4/5) smacked 3 HomeRuns, Gunner went (3/5) while Jay Murray, Jon Allen, Mike Henry, Chris Binns all slapped doubles for the Marauders.

Marauders came up with a 12 run 7th inning to secure the win. Mike Henry was on the bump and helped himself with a HomeRun.
Chris Binns went 5/5, Nick Binns and Chris Arseneau both went 4/5, while Jay Murray, Mark Paulin (2), Dave Gunn and Josh Ferris all hit doubles to leave the way from the plate.

Dan Girourde went 5/5 while Mike Cass hit a 2 run HR and Josh Lee hit a 3 run HR to help the Grovers win.

Shawn Gionet and Brian Doucette both went 4/5 while Ryan Wills went 5/5 with 2 HRs for the Ballerz in a hard fought battle with the Grovers. Honorable mention to Dippy Chiasson with a 3/5 night and a hit that made it out of the infield.

Castaways bats turned cold but they did manage a few highlights thanks to a pair of Home Runs by Jason Praught and Tim O'Blenis. Chris Eliassen had an exciting inside the park HR in the loss.

Adam Bernier pitched the win, chipped in 3 hits and also had the walk off single for the Blue Jays in a fun back and forth game with the Castaways.

Castaways were led by Jason Praught with a pair of HRs. Steve Craig and Jason Cook went 4/4 in the losing effort.

Tim O'Blenis smashed a HR and made a rare appearance in the field, leading the Castaways to their first W of the season .
Jason Cook and Kristian Fraser chipped in 3 hits a piece, while Kristian and Dave Parlee split the pitching duties.

For the Marauders, Mike Henry, Jay Murray and Chris Arseneau all hit HRs. Nate Buck 3/3, Dave Gunn 3/4 with a double, Chris Binns 2/3 in the loss.

Jon Blackwood, Tommy Wood, Barry Perrin, Jordan Drier and Chris Carrier all had 4 hits. Jordan Drier led the Pirates on defence, making several stellar plays in support of winning pitcher Chris Carrier.

Despite another awful 1-5 showing from Chris Lomax the Iron Pigs were able to pickup the win. Colin Duguay 5/5, Tim Burke 4/5. Winning pitcher was Max Merritt.

Tonight the D Division gets back into action. At 6, it's the Regulators vs Ballerz. At 7:30, it's Schooners vs East Side Boys. At 9 it's the Grovers vs. The Dingers.

Blue Jays win a throwback, well pitched, defensive gem by both teams. Kyle Phillips went 4/4, Adam Bertolini had 3 hits while Kyle Smith struck out with the bases loaded but did manage a couple of hits, including a clutch 2 RBI single in the 8th. Adam Bernier pitched the win.

Corey Britt went 3/5 with a long HR. Trevor Joyce went 4/5 with 4 doubles. Mark Hansen added a HR to lead the Jay Birds to the win.
​
Tom Graves went 4/4, Jay Murray 3/6 with a double, Mark Paulin and Nathaniel Buck both went 3/6. Nick Binns went 4/5 with a triple and picked up the loss on the hill for the Marauders.

The 2nd week of the season kicked off with 3 D Division tilts

Grovers came back from being down 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th to claim the victory. Ben O'Blenis got the walk off single to win the game for the Grovers. Jeff Murphy went 4/4, Marc Hayward went 3/3 in the winning effort.
​
Nick Pastrick went 4/4 and Andrew Lambert hit a 3 run HR in the loss for the Dingers.
​

Saeplast Schooners 25 East Side Boys 9
​
Micah H with a Grand Slam leading the Schooners to the victory over the East Side Boys. Mark B found the gap with 3 triples. Rod W also gave strong support, landing on base 5 straight plate appearances. Reg S pitched the win.

Regulators 18 Ballerz 3
Shane Ouellette led the way for the Regulators going 4/4 at the dish. Kyle Lewis and Josh Gordon went 3/3. Jeremy Leslie pitched the win.
​
Ballerz struggled to score tonight taking the loss. They were led at the plate by Ryan Wills going 3/4, Billy Dickison 2/4 and Troy Rogerson 2/4. Marc Doussaud took the loss on the rubber.
​

The A and B Divisions are back in action tonight. At Stephenson, it's the Iron Pigs and Giants to kick things off at 6. At 7:30, it's the Warriors and Seagulls. The 9pm matchup features the Pirates and Brew Crew.
​
Over at O'Brien, the 6:00 game is the Blue Jays vs East Coast Pub Coors lights in a battle of teams off to 2-0 starts. At 7:30, it's the Jay Birds and Marauders to close the night as the Castaways are off till Thursday.

Sunday saw our C Division take to the diamond for their 2nd games to begin the year.

Josh Durley went 5/5 while "Danger" Dan Hicks went 4/5 with a dinger and Colin Donkin went 4/5 with 2 HRs leading the Beavers to their first win of the season.

Stingrays 17 Batmen 9
​
Mike Murray pitched the Stingrays to their first W of the young season. Rob Keary led the way with another 3 run shot. Justin Sheppard and Brandon Sutton each had a solo HR in the victory.

Phillies 25 Astros 20
​
​​Jeremy Higgins led the Phillies at the dish, going 5/5. Jake Hickman and Chris Hickman both went 4/5 and Don Higgins pitched the Phillies to their first win.
​
The Astros were led by Scot Smith and Jerrad Brewer both going 4/4 with 4 singles a piece, while Peter Colwell went 3/4 with 2 singles and a triple (It said triple on the write up but this has to be a single and 2 base error right??). LOL just kidding Peter.

Tonight we see the D Division back in Action at O'Brien. At 6:00 it's the Dingers and the Grovers in action. This is followed by East Side Boys and the Schooners at 7:30. The late game sees the Ballerz and the Regulators in action at 9:00.

Chris Jonson and Paul Mercer each went 4/4, contributing a double and a triple. Dan Girourde got the go ahead 2 run HR,. Kenny Hayward pitched the win.

For the Ballerz, Donnie Plourde 5/5, Ryan Wills 4/5 with a 3 run HR . Dippy Chiasson 4/5 and Shawn Gionet took the heart breaking loss on the mound.

​​KC Vautour went 4/4 with 3 doubles and a cranky HR. Kyle Lewis went 4/4 with 3 doubles and a single. Kenny 'Gramps' Thibodeau went 3/3 and Jeremy Leslie pitched the W.

On Sunday, the C Division takes over O'Brien for 3 games. At 6, it's the Beavers vs the Hitmen. At 7:30, the Sting Rays and Batmen do battle. The nightcap is the Astros and Phillies.

Josh Montgomery picked up 4 doubles, Mike Plagenz had 4 singles, Mike James 3 singles and picked up the first W of the season as the Warriors defeated Brew Crew . ​

Blue Jays stay hot with the bats in a win over the Jay Birds. Aaron Smith went 5/5 with 2 doubles and a triple, Kyle Despres went 3/5 with a double and a triple, Kyle Phillips had 4 hits including a 3 run HR. Adam Bernier spun the win on the mound as the Blue Jays start 2-0.

Mark Hansen and Trevor Joyce led the way each going 3/5 with a Home Run as the Jay Birds bounce back in the 2nd half of their double header and pick up the win over the Castaways

For the now 0-2 Castaways, Paul Gallagher chipped in 4 hits, while Tim O'Blenis and Joe Gould continued their HR competition with 1 a piece.

For the Marauders, Adam Downey was 3/3 with 2 triples, Jason Murray and Chris Binns were each 2/3 with a double and Mike Henry also went 2/3 in the loss.

Rob Keary with a 3 run shot led the Stingrays to an opening night tie with the Phillies. Adrian Yorke and Mike Murray chipped in at the plate and on the mound, Murray combined with Justin Sheppard on the pitching duties.

For the Phillies, Jeremy Higgins hit 2 Home Runs, Jeremy Armstrong hit a HR, Devin McDonough went 2/4 and in his return to slo pitch, Dave Keating pitched the tie.
​

Port City Astros 15 Dan's Country Market Hitmen 9
​
Josh Eastwood went 3/4 with 2 HR's, Jamie Pickett 3/4 with a HR and Marc Moyen went 3/4. Jon Smith pitched the Astros to the opening night W.

​

Blair Demerchant and Gary Brown went 5/5 leading the Brew Crew to their first win of the season. Anthony Saunders went 4/5 and Shawn 'Shaggy' Hanson spun the win on the mound.

Iron Pigs 22. Weekend Warriors 17
​
Andrew Murray and Kelly Ryan led the Iron Pigs to a 1-0 start with a victory over the Warriors, despite Chris Lomax only going 1-5. The winning pitcher was Max Merritt.

Pirates 31 Seagulls 30
​
Chris Carrier led the Pirates at the dish going 5-5 while pitching the win over the defending champion Seagulls. Troy Best and Rob Moore also went 5-5 in the victory.

Derek Sanford hit a HR and drove in 4 while pitching the Coors Lights to a win over the Castaways. Gareth Black went 4-5, Rob Boulanger 3-4 and Mark Kiervin 2-4 with 4 RBI

It wasn't all disappointment for the Castaways as local legend Tim O'Blenis managed to come off the bench and hit a HR for the fans. Joe Gould and Jason Cook also homered in the losing effort. Shawn Parlee went a perfect 4-4 at this dish.

Last night we kicked off the 2022 Season with 3 D division games on the slate.

Derek Bland and Josh Lee each went 3/4 with a double while Mike Cass went 4/4 with 2 doubles and a SOLO home run to lead the Grovers to an opening day win.
Jeremy Leslie and Johnny Hill-Mason went 3/3 for the Regulators and Johnny chipped in a 2 run HR.

The Dingers 23 East Side Boys 10
​
The Dingers introduced themselves to the league in style with a victory over the East Side Boys. Max Pastirik, Nick Pastirik, Dan Albert led the way for the Dingers. Connor Doiron pitched the win.

Fog City Ballerz 19 Promen Schooners 12
Ballerz pulled out a big win to open the season. Leading the way at the plate was Ryan Wills 4/4 with 2 HRs, Donnie Plourde 4/4 and Shawn Gionet 3/4. Ben Freigang had an amazing defensive game in LF while Brian Doucette pitched the win.

Tonight the A and B divisions kick off their respective seasons. At Stephenson, we will see The Giants taking on The Brew Crew, The Weekend Warriors vs The Iron Pigs and in the nightcap, The Seagulls tangle with the Pirates. Over at O'Brien, The Marauders meet up with the Blue Jays in a re-match of the C Division final from last year. In the 2nd game, The East Coast Pub Coors Lights take on The Castaways.
