July 27th, 2022 MEETING NOTES

League met to discuss a few important topics last night, but due to a lack lustre showing of team reps a few items were not able to be voted on. Below are the topics:

1. Vice President position available - Nominations for this position are being called upon. Please get any nominations in by Sunday July 31st.We will then conduct a vote to determine the next VP shortly there are.
2. Suspensions - Have become more frequent and severe in recent times. We are all there to have fun, there is no need to go after officials and escalate things verbally and potentially physically. We are putting the league in a tough spot where it’s getting harder and harder to get umpires and constantly attacking them isn’t making it easier to convince them to umpire our league. If you have an issue or situation arises please walk away from it on the field and go through the proper channels and submit your description of events to the executive for review. We will be posting all suspensions on the league websute.
3. Fines - We will be enforcing fines for non-attendance to league meetings. If you miss 2 meetings a $25 fine will be applied to your performance bond and the team will top that back up in order to start following season with a full bond.
4. Player pickups to field a team - Only to be done during regular season and not during playoffs - Not being able to field a team in playoffs will result in a forfeit.
Proposed pickup format is as follows to be voted on by league;

A Division (Can pick up from A or divisions below)

B & C Division (Can pick up from below divisions)

D (Can pick up from inside their division)
Option 1 = Pick up 2 or 3 players (to be voted on)
Option 2 = When picking up 2 or 3 players (to be voted on) does that give team picking up players 8 total (other team supplies catcher) or go to 10 players total.
5. Payoff format and umpires
* A, C, D divisions - 1st and 2nd place teams get first round bye then #1 seed plays lowest remaining leaving the 2nd place team to play other remaining.
* B division - 1st place team gets first round bye (only 5 teams in division) with 2nd playing 3rd and 4th playing 5th (winner of this series plays 1st place in 2nd round)
* Umpires - 2 umpires in playoffs if they are available
6. All Star Game - August 20th at Forrest Hills using wooden bats - Will be same as in past with each team nominating 2 players and a draft to happen to form 4 teams (Draft date and location to be finalized soon). Home Run Derby to be held as well (will be an entry fee to participate with 50/50 share to winner and league, open to all league players and not just All Star players) Looking at options for food and beverages
